COMPANY OVERVIEW

About Figure AI

Figure AI, commonly branded as Figure, develops humanoid robots and the software used to control them. The company identifies its headquarters as San Jose, California. Its work combines a human-shaped physical platform with learned behavior, with the aim of performing tasks in environments already arranged around people. The manufacturer profile brings together company-level information; the linked Figure 03 robot profile covers the individual platform in greater detail.

The published development history begins with Figure 01, whose first steps took place in May 2023. Figure 02 followed as a more integrated workforce platform. Figure 03 is the current third generation presented on the company’s product website. On September 30, 2026, Figure announced the decommissioning of most of its Figure 02 fleet as Figure 03 expanded. Historical Figure 02 results therefore need to remain separate from claims about the current robot.

Figure’s product presentation now puts substantial emphasis on the home, including laundry, cleaning, and dishes. Its commercial development also continues. The June 2026 BMW update describes Figure 03 demonstrating a sequencing workflow at Plant Spartanburg, using Helix 02 to coordinate parts handling and cart movement. This is evidence of a specific industrial activity, rather than proof that the same system is ready for every manufacturing task or customer location.

Helix is the company’s generalist vision-language-action AI system. Figure describes it as connecting perception, reasoning, and movement aboard the robot. The January 2026 Helix 02 release extended learned control across the whole body. Helix 2.5, announced in September 2026, subsequently addressed transfer to unfamiliar homes. Software progress matters to a manufacturer assessment because the useful capability is the combination of robot hardware, trained behaviors, and the conditions under which those behaviors were evaluated.

Manufacturing is another part of Figure’s development program. Its April 29, 2026 BotQ update reported more than 350 Figure 03 units delivered and a demonstrated production rate of one robot per hour, compared with one per day earlier in the ramp. These are dated manufacturer-reported figures, not independently audited output or evidence of current retail stock. The company describes the growing fleet as supporting research, data collection, household work, and commercial development.

For an organization evaluating Figure, the practical next step is to define a task and request evidence for that task. Relevant questions include the operating environment, intervention requirements, support arrangements, deployment geography, and proposed commercial terms. Public demonstrations, production progress, and signed agreements answer different questions and should be assessed separately. The reviewed sources do not establish universal ordering terms or standard public pricing. Humanoid Robot Dealer presents independent research and can help organize sourcing requirements; this profile does not establish authorized dealer status or guaranteed access to Figure robots.

ROBOTICS FOCUS

Humanoid Robotics at Figure AI

Figure focuses on general-purpose humanoids for spaces designed around people. Its progression runs from the early Figure 01 platform through Figure 02’s workforce activity to Figure 03’s broader home and commercial development. Figure’s September 30, 2026 announcement says most of the Figure 02 fleet has been decommissioned; Figure 02 is historical context, not the current flagship.

Figure 01 established the first-generation platform. Figure 02 supported workforce testing, including the earlier BMW program. Figure 03 is the third generation, introduced in October 2025 with redesigned sensing and hands, fingertip tactile sensing, palm cameras, and wireless charging. Figure describes the redesign as supporting Helix, household use, commercial tasks, and manufacturability. For specifications and platform-specific assessment, see the Figure 03 robot profile.

TECHNOLOGY

Software, AI & Platform Technology

Helix is Figure’s generalist humanoid Vision-Language-Action system. In the Helix 02 architecture, language and scene interpretation inform behavior planning, while faster control layers coordinate manipulation, locomotion, and balance. The company’s January 27, 2026 release demonstrated an autonomous dishwasher task combining movement and object handling. These are manufacturer demonstrations under described conditions.

Helix 2.5 is the newer release reviewed here, announced September 17, 2026. Figure reports that a model pretrained on its Index human-behavior dataset was adapted to tidying, towel folding, and bed making, then evaluated in 30 previously unseen Bay Area homes. The company reported 56% full-task success for the pretrained system in that evaluation, compared with 9% without Index pretraining. This is a bounded research result, not evidence of unrestricted household autonomy or a universal service guarantee.

PRODUCTION

Manufacturing & Commercial Progress

In its April 29, 2026 update, Figure reported that BotQ had delivered more than 350 Figure 03 robots and demonstrated a one-robot-per-hour cycle time, up from approximately one per day. Figure characterized this as a transition into production-phase manufacturing. No newer aggregate output figure was established in the official updates reviewed on October 6, 2026.

The Figure 03 introduction describes a shift toward die casting, injection molding, and stamping, alongside changes to assembly and the supply chain. Manufacturing output should not be treated as available inventory or as a promise of delivery to a new customer.

Figure’s public activity spans industrial work, logistics, and household development. Distinguish the earlier Figure 02 BMW deployment from the Figure 03 BMW demonstration. On May 26, 2026, Figure also announced a commercial agreement with Catalyst Brands, starting at its Reno distribution and logistics center. An announced agreement establishes commercial intent; the announcement alone does not establish fleet size, realized productivity, or a completed rollout. Home-task research demonstrates selected behaviors rather than broad consumer availability.

COMMERCIAL ACCESS

Availability & Market Access

Figure reports production and company-led deployment activity, including commercial relationships. The official sources reviewed do not establish standard public purchase pricing, broad retail availability, or universal ordering terms. A manufacturer’s active production program does not by itself mean any buyer can order a robot. Verify the proposed use case and current access directly with Figure or the relevant supplier.

Documented U.S. activity includes San Jose headquarters, BMW Group Plant Spartanburg in South Carolina, the announced Catalyst Brands program in Reno, Nevada, and household research in the Bay Area. These locations do not establish universal U.S. availability or international ordering eligibility.

Figure’s June 30, 2026 BMW account identifies a Figure 03 logistics-sequencing demonstration powered by Helix 02. Parts handling and movement of a wheeled cart form part of that workflow. Earlier Figure 02 assembly-line deployment is separate evidence. Household trials and the Catalyst Brands announcement should likewise be assessed according to their stated test or commercial status, rather than grouped together as identical deployments.

Commercial availability, pilot programs, pricing, regions, and deployment pathways can change as manufacturer programs develop. Verify current information directly with the manufacturer or relevant supplier before making procurement decisions.

SOURCING

Sourcing Considerations

Prepare the application, task sequence, operating environment, geography, deployment scale, and timeline before requesting access. Confirm pricing, delivery, integration, training, maintenance, supervision, and support in the actual proposed agreement. Availability may depend on the use case, geography, program stage, and Figure’s priorities.

Humanoid Robot Dealer can help organize requirements and review available sourcing information, without promising access to Figure or representing an authorized dealership. Review our sourcing process, explore relevant industry applications, or request sourcing help.
